The “Upper Westside Scavenger Hunt” is a fun-filled day for children, teens, families and Scavenger Hunt enthusiasts to explore the city’s outstanding architecture and unique history as they hunt for sacred treasures throughout the Upper Westside of the Big Apple! This free family-friendly event is coordinated by Rutgers Presbyterian Church in collaboration with the New York Landmarks Conservancy ninth annual Sacred Sites Open House.
“Upper Westside Scavenger Hunt” will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 10am-5pm. Scavenger Hunt booklets will include a map indicating the location of each of the 12 participating Sacred Sites, with a photo and description of a significant Scavenger Hunt sacred treasure that is unique to each location – a work of art, architectural element or historical marker.
Participants can begin the hunt at any location on the Upper Westside Scavenger Hunt Map and have their booklets signed by site coordinators when they discover a treasure! Visit all the sites to find each treasure and submit your completely signed booklet to Rutgers Presbyterian Church at 236 West 73rd Street by Sunday, May 19th at 2pm to be eligible to win $100 restaurant gift certificates, awarded to the first 10 participants. Toys and snacks will also be awarded to all who locate a site’s treasure.
Complete List of Upper West Side Scavenger Hunt sites all located between West 46th Street to West 114th Street.
