Janara Kellerman, originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has enjoyed a long career as a professional opera singer. She has performed on stage here and abroad in such operas as Carmen, Aida, L’Italiana in Algeri, Il Trovatore, and the Verdi Requiem. Janara was the Alto Soloist with the Rutgers Choir from 2011–2016. She joined the Rutgers office staff in March 2015. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Voice Performance from Simpson College and the University of Memphis, respectively.
