Dylan: A Song Cycle for Baritone and Harp

Special concert on November 11 presented by the Welsh Congregation of New York City at Rutgers.

The Welsh poet Dylan Thomas died in New York City on 8th November 1953. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of his death, British composer Michael Stimpson is bringing Dylan, his song cycle for baritone and harp, to Rutgers Presbyterian Church, for the US premiere performance by leading Welsh baritone Gareth Brynmor John and Royalharpist Alis Huws.

Stimpson artfully combines spoken excerpts and musical settings of Thomas's poems, letters, stories and, of course, Under Milk Wood, to create a ruminative and evocative monodrama of depth and originality.

Tickets ($30) are available here.
